Past Project

Carleton Mill, Carleton

This impressive Grade Two listed building has been a central feature of the village since it was built in 1861.

Originally a cotton mill, it has had various uses over the years, including for the manufacture of aircraft parts during World War II, for making textiles and for producing carpets.

Novo Homes has now breathed new life into the mill through an innovative conversion and restoration of the building. Combining traditional materials with imaginative state-of-the art design, Carleton Mill has once again become a focal point in the community.

The open-air atrium is a truly inspired creation at the mill's centre, and includes a water feature, a stone-flagged piazza and a glass-fronted lift.

With 51 luxury apartments in the mill itself and 26 homes in the grounds, Carleton Mill is once more thriving at the heart of the village.
